Julia Igonina is one of the most prominent and brilliant Russian musicians of the younger generation. Spirituality, integrity, insight into the composer's intent, the distinctive features of its mature performing style. Ever-growing repertoire of violinist includes over 30 concertos for violin and orchestra, the set of chamber works and concert pieces from different eras. Julia plays a fine Italian instrument by Vincenzo Panormo on loan to her by Russian State Collection of unique musical instruments.
A graduate of the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, Julia Igonina was born in Belarus and started her musical career at the age of six with Professor Vyacheslav Khavkin, continuing with him at the Glinka Music College in Minsk. Since 1997 Julia has been a student of Professor Edward Grach at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory and later became his assistant. In addition Julia Igonina attended master classes with Shlomo Mintz.
Julia had already been awarded with first prizes at several international violin competitions such as the “Sion- Valais International Violin Competition” in Switzerland (2002), Novosibirsk International Violin Competition by Zakhar Bron (1998), Yampolsky International Violin Competition in Russia (1999) and top prizes of international music competitions “Aleksandr Tansman International Competition of musical individualities” in Lodz, Poland (2000) and “Valsesia Musica International Violin Competition” in Varallo, Italy (2005).
Julia Igonina has already compiled extensive experience as a soloist with orchestra. When Julia turned 14, she made her debut as soloist with the Belarus State Symphony Orchestra. She has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including State Academy Symphony orchestra of Russia, Moscow State Philharmonic orchestra, Novosibirsk Symphony orchestra, Ukraine National orchestra, Slovenia symphony orchestra, Franz Liszt Chamber orchestra, Belarus Symphony, Moscovia Chamber orchestra, RTV Symphony orchestra, Haifa Symphony orchestra, Joensuu Symphony orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony and Presidential Orchestra of Belarus.
Julia has performed in collaboration with such great musicians as Shlomo Mintz, Arnold Katz, Nikolay Petrov, Alexander Knyazev, Teodor Currentzis, Edward Grach, Alexander Rudin, Alexander Anisimov, Daniel Kramer, Pavel Nersessian, Yoel Levy, Antonio Pirolli and other.
She has given concerts in some of the most prestigious venues in the world. Julia has given performances at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire, Grand Hall of the St.-Petersburg Philharmonic society, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Lisinsky Hall in Zagreb, Big Hall in Beijing and taken part in musical festivals, such as "Semains Musicales de Tur" in France, "Sion-Valais'' and “Semains Musicales de Crans-Montana” in Switzerland, ''Efes classic music festival'' in Turkey, "Stars of a planet" in Ukraine, "Russian winter" in Moscow and in Days of Russian culture in China, Viet Nam, Macedonia, Horvatia, Yugoslavia and Cyprus. In 2004 she has played in New Year's concert for President of the People's Republic of China Jiang Zemin.
In 2009, she was invited to represent Russia as a member of the jury at the Munetsugu Angel violin competition in Nagoya, Japan
Julia gives a big attention to chamber music, since 2008 performing as first violin of the New Russian Quartet. Recordings of violinist broadcast on the radio Orpheus, Suisse Romande, Espace2, tv channels Mezzo, Culture and the Bulgarian TV.
In summer of 2009 musicians of quartet were invited as guest professors to chamber music course of famous master classes at Keshet Eilon in Israel. In December of 2011 the New Russian debuted in London with two concerts – in Kings Place and in Purcell Room of Royal Festival hall at Southbank Centre. In February of 2012 quartet participated in Jeju Music Festival in South Korea followed by concert in biggest and most prestigious Seoul Arts Centre. In November 2012 she had debut in Madrid Auditorio with New Russian quartet and in December performed in opening concert of Boris Berezovsky’s Fest In Yekaterinburg. In October 2013 Julia had debut recital in Berlin Konzerthaus with pianist Sofia Gulbadamova.

Nearest plans of Julia include CD “The Seasons” realize on “Melody” label, touring to USA, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Holland, Switzerland and in Russia performing all quartets by L.V. Beethoven and D. D. Shostakovich.
